Yes. The free tier lets you build dashboards with every tile type and includes Demo Mode — so you can explore Halo with sample data even without a Home Assistant setup. Halo PRO is an optional upgrade.
What does Halo PRO unlock?
Halo PRO adds iCloud sync across your devices, Smart Hub (surface and run your automations), Music Assistant integration for multi-room audio, and premium device controls such as the La Marzocco espresso machine.
Do I pay once per device?
No. Halo PRO is a single $19.99 in-app purchase. It covers iPhone, iPad, and Mac when signed into the same Apple ID — no per-device fees.
How do I restore my purchase?
Open Halo → Settings and tap Restore Purchases. As long as you're signed in with the same Apple ID used to buy PRO, it restores instantly at no charge.
Does Halo work without Home Assistant?
You can explore the full interface in Demo Mode without a Home Assistant server. For live tile data, automations, and real device control, you need a running Home Assistant instance and a Long-Lived Access Token.
